The hair loss caused by my cancer treatment forced me to confront my self-consciousness and insecurities. I sought out silver linings, finding the fun in different wigs and hats, and dressing up with jewellery and heels for hospital appointments. Cancer treatment challenged me to look at myself in a different way and release some of the worries I had about my appearance. Women with flowers for hair are a recurring theme in my artwork, with flowers representing life, joy and personal growth.
