Amy Dury

Amy is originally from London but has lived in Brighton for 25 years. She studied at the Glasgow School of Art in silkscreen printmaking but now paints both portraits and more narrative figurative scenes using acrylics and oils.

Her current main inspirations are Edgar Degas and Jennifer Packer, both masters of figurative paintings with beautifully observed details and expressive use of line and colour.

Amy has appeared on Sky’s Portrait Artist of the Year 2021, conducted a live online stream portrait painting session for the Tate (March 2021) and was selected for the Trinity Buoy Wharf Drawing Prize in 2021.
