Breast cancer is the most common cancer in the UK where 1 in every 7 women will develop this terrible disease. This equates to around 150 women a day. It is a sad reality that everyone is likely to know someone that will develop breast cancer. Research into breast cancer has made real progress and nearly two-thirds of those who are diagnosed now survive. However, incidence rates for breast cancer are projected to rise 2% by 2035 and there continues to be a real need to continue our research and increase awareness of breast cancer.

Nottingham Breast Cancer Research Centre (NBCRC) at the University of Nottingham together with the Breast Cancer Art Project arranged this group art exhibition to run during breast cancer awareness month (October 2022)
Drawing upon personal experience, 15 artists allow viewers to consider breast cancer through the lens of creative expression bringing attention to individual stories, of lives affected and changed by breast cancer through imaginative, sensitive, and thought-provoking responses.

The exhibition was curated by Carol Pairaudeau, the Administrator for the NBCRC as well as a former breast cancer patient and artist.

NBCRC relies entirely on fundraising income and we are grateful for the passionate support received from patients and affiliated groups, breast cancer survivors, their families and advocates. Every penny of your support goes to carrying out our research. To make a donation visit www.justgiving.com/NBCRCart
